Langkah-langkah dalam membangun
rancangan jaringan yang terdiri dari 10 komputer (subnet mask custom) adalah
sebagai berikut:
- Pertama buka cisco packet tracer yang sudah terinstal.
- Kemudian klik End Devices, lalu akan tampil berapa tampilan perangkat (devices), drag device yang diinginkan ke dalam lembar tugas.
- Lakukan langkah diatas sebanyak computer yang diinginkan.
- Setelah itu klik Switches, kemudian drag switch ke lembar tugas.
- Susun computer sesuai dengan topologi Star. Dimana posisi Switch ditengah-tengah computer.
- Lakukan koneksi dengan meng-klik Connections, kemudian pilih Copper Straight-Through.
- Hubungkan computer dengan switch dengan Copper Straight-Through.
- Setelah selesai proses semua diatas, lakukan konfigurasi IP dengan meng-klik computer, lalu pilih tab Desktop. Setelah itu klik IP Configuration.
- Berikan IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway pada tiap-tiap computer. Untuk IP Address antara computer harus berbeda, sedangkan Default Gateway antara tiap computer harus sama.
- Setelah selesai melakukan IP Configuration lakukan pengecekan apakah antar computer saling terkoneksi dengan cara klik computer, lalu pilih tab Desktop. Setelah itu klik Command Prompt.
- Pada Command Prompt ketik ping <IP Address yang ingin dikoneksikan> kemudian tekan Enter.
